Lemon-Lime Spa Party

A friend hosts an annual spa day for her girlfriends at the end of every summer. She hires a masseuse to come to the home, prepares fabulous salads and cocktails, sets out the girlie magazines along with the conversation game, TABLE TOPICS.

Merchandise from Scentsy Wickless Candles, and Silpada Jewelry were set out for us to browse through at our leisure.
She also asked us to bring clothes from our wardrobes to support Working Wardrobes. Working Wardrobes provides a new start to at-risk men, women and young adults to help them attain dignity and self-sufficiency.

The theme was a lemon-lime inspired look.  Greens and yellow accents were found in the lemon tree centerpieces, lime-colored candles, citrus-patterned napkins and coordinating placemats.

A Chicken Chopped Cobb (from Panera Bread) and a Chinese Chicken Salad (my recipe, see below) were the perfect choice for bathing suit attire.  Although all inhibitions were lost after drinking the margaritas. (just ask the Corona PD helicopter that circled above.)

Chinese Chicken Salad (it's the best you'll ever have)
3/4 head of green cabbage chopped
1 bunch of green onions chopped
1 package TOP RAMEN noodles (chicken or oriental)
3 TBS Sesame Seeds
1/2 cup slivered almonds

Dressing (mix and chill ahead of time)
2 TBSL wine vinegar (I use Balsamic Vinegar)
1/2 cup sesame oil
1/2 tsp seasoned pepper
2 TBSL sugar
1 seasoning packet from the TOP RAMEN noodles

To Prepare
Toast the almonds and Sesame Seeds @400˚ for 8-10 minutes.  Crush the TOP RAMEN noodles into small pieces and mix with cabbage and green onions.  When the seeds and almonds have cooled, mix with cabbage.
Just before serving, gently mix the chilled dressing and coat the salad evenly. Serve and enjoy.

And when the TableTopics question was, "If you didn't have to work what would you do with your time?"  We all answered, have a spa party everyday!!!!!

What would you do with your time if you didn't have to work?
